Merengue is one of the most infectious and fun styles of music in the world. You don’t have to know a darned thing about anything - you will be simply swept up in its intoxicating rhythm and be moving and jumping before you even realize what is happening!

This style originates from the Dominican Republic, which is why it is considered one of the flagship genres of what is called Tropical Latin music. It’s upbeat music featuring a 2/4 time signature.
